that escalated quickly…

Last night we went to dinner with friends to Patrizia‘s and man oh man, did we eat, and drink…so much…got a little wild fast.  We did family style and they just kept on bringing food…we had at least 8 appetizers, chicken parm, steak, pasta, salad, and then a huge dessert plate.  Oh yea, and the wine was included…

This morning we are licking our wounds, but it was worth it.  If you are ever in the area, go to Patrizia’s, it’s amazing.

Hot Chocolate Day

I never know when hot chocolate day is going to come…but when it does, I lose my cool.  I’m basically Stanley Hudson! Once or twice a year 30 Rock does a hot chocolate tasting where all the best places (godiva, potbelly, bouchon) give away free hc…and oh man, is it magnificent.  I know, I know, it’s only hot chocolate, but anything to help make work feel a little happier right?IMG_6267
(my first two cups)

On top of free hc day, look at these two besties hanging out…

Tonight and tomorrow we have dinner with friends, and then home for the weekend to celebrate my Dad’s birthday!

Lately…

We have had a wild week.  Between getting everything done at work, packed at home, Rondo dropped off (and sick last weekend), and I haven’t been feeling all that well, it has been really stressful…but tomorrow we are off to paradise for a week of nothing but sunshine and fun!

Here are some pics from the last week…

Now one more night here and we are off in the morning.  Be prepared for an absurd amount of vacation pics when we get back in a week!

(m&d&n – thank you for taking care of our babe. i hope he isn’t any trouble.  and thanks for always loving me even when i’m a total, utter, complete nutcase)

This weekend was a blast, and fortunately for me, it is still going on as I have the day off (sorry if you’re ready this at work Jay)!

Friday night I had dinner with Lauren at Ed’s, and stuffed my face with unbelievable food…

La Esquina / Hot Date

IMG_5464

Last night I had a night out with one of my bests, Adie!  We did some (unsuccessful) shopping in SoHo, explored the weirdest Asian store ever (we were both way into it), and went to taco heaven at La Esquina.

Here are some fun ones from last night…

Dinner / Movie / Mess

IMG_5285Last night Jay and I decided to go to see Silver Linings Playbook (so good!) at Nitehawk!  We love this movie theater!  They have amazingly delicious food (clearly the most important part), a full bar (eh maybe this is most important), and its really intimate (not a huge megaplex).  Check out their menu here!

(theater, how you order, ticket)

Anyways, we had a great meal (I had shrimp and fried grits oh.my.god.), we loved the movie, and it was a fun night out.  Then we got home…

Where this monster had thrown up all over our comforter! YAY!  It’s my own fault he overate and looks like he snacked on a toy too…poor little guy.  So after a scramble to clean our mattress cover, get new sheets on, and find blankets to sleep with, we were off to bed.  Always something right?

Wishing everyone a sick-dog free day!

3 Years

IMG_4602

Last night Jay and I went to dinner for our 3 year anniversary at Marlow & Sons. Everything was so delicious and it was really nice to go out to dinner alone (we’re so busy it doesn’t happen too much!).  I took some pictures but they all turned out dark…bear with me here…

It was a really nice night, followed by the 12.12.12 concert, a double overtime Celtics win, and this little guy doing this all on his own after a walk in the cold…

He cracks us up!

De Niro!

Yay to a relaxing weekend!  Jay and I got to take it nice and easy.  We watched some movies, drank some wine, enjoyed the pup, and got to see DeNiro filming outside our apartment.

Saturday Rondo and I went to the dog park for hours!  After he was nice and worn out, Jay and I went to dinner with his sister and husband.  We went to Gallow Green which is a semi-secret rooftop restaurant on top of the Sleep No More hotel.  There is live 20’s music, beautiful views of the city, people in costume dancing, and a bit of a creepy Boardwalk Empire feel to it.  Here are some pics from dinner:

Sunday we woke up and had a pretty amazing New York moment.  Robert DeNiro filming Malavita outside our apartment!!

We sat on the porch for hours watching them.  Nothing like waking up to DeNiro shooting someone in a car literally in front of your door.  Rondo was very interested in the filming…

After watching, Rondo and I went to the Williamsburg Flea Market for a little vintage shopping…

Before I knew it, it was dinner, HBO time, and bed.  At least we have an event this week with Karmin and Santigold so there is something to look forward to instead of just work (even though it’s a work event)! xo

Surprise Face!

The past couple days have been busy with work for both Jay and I.  This means delivery dinner and early to bed.  At least someone has been enjoying this beautiful fall sunshine while we are working…

I have managed to get Rondo to the dog park every night, which is actually, completely, selfish.  Taking that hour after work for him to run around means no playing fetch in the hallway for hours when we want to watch SOA.  Definitely worth it.  Here is a great building we pass buy on our walk to the park…

Here it is…the (best) surprise face from Reggie’s surprise party this weekend.  This is right when he walked in the door…terrified and so fantastic!

One last thing… NY Mag has a great article about South Williamsburg and all of the amazing new restaurants, bars, and real estate being built.  I love my neighborhood!  Check out the article here.
