Vacation #1 (video)

We are back! Vacation couldn’t have been better! We relaxed, ate a weird amount of food, drank an even weirder amount of frozen drinks, and enjoyed being in the sun with just each other for 12 days. Yea, that’s right, 12! Nemo (evil fishy storm) had all flights cancelled, so we ended up with 4 extra days in paradise (this is after 8 hours of phone calls with the airline, hotel, and travel company).

I took 400 pictures, not like 400, actually 400. I am going to sift through them tonight and post some of our favorites. In the meantime here are a few from my iphone and at the bottom a video I made (it’s my first try at making one!)…

Just a little update from paradise…

We’re having a wonderful time, enjoying the warm weather, beach, food, drinks, pools…well, everything! I’m not sure we will ever come back to cold NYC.

Lately…

We have had a wild week. Between getting everything done at work, packed at home, Rondo dropped off (and sick last weekend), and I haven’t been feeling all that well, it has been really stressful…but tomorrow we are off to paradise for a week of nothing but sunshine and fun!

One week left until we leave for vacation! YAY! All we have to do is get through 5 more days of work and we are done. I have a countless number of things to do before we leave…I need to make around 476 lists (maybe more) of things we need for the hotel, beach, flight, not to mention packing up our little babe for a week-long stay at his 3 wonderful aunts house (thank you girls). I know, I know, he’s a dog…but…

…how do I say goodbye to that face?!

I have a feeling once we look like these people again ↓↓↓

…all sunny, happy, not being pushed by strangers on the subway, or obsessively checking our iphones, we will find a way to get through it!

Surgery

Friday I had a procedure done to help with my breathing, or lack of breathing! Over the past couple months I haven’t been able to breathe well causing quite a lot of trouble for me physically and emotionally (I get so scared I won’t get air in!). Hopefully now that the surgery is over, and once I have recovered, I will be good as new and breathing like a functioning human being again.

Thank God my Mom was here on Friday to help me! I was a mess! Bloody nose on the subway, felt like I had been punched 29058035 times in the face, and a bit out of it. I couldn’t be more thankful to have had her with me, I’m a lucky kid…

After the surgery Mom and I had lunch together at Forcella…it was just the medicine I needed.

Since I couldn’t really go out this weekend, or drink, or stay out late, we had a lazy one. We saw Zero Dark Thirty, ate a ton of delivery, and cuddled the boy…

Rainy Day…

It’s a crummy day in New York. It’s dark, pouring down rain, steamy, and the whole city is mourning the summer (doesn’t make for a pleasant commute let me tell you). And when you are trying to leave for work and this little guy has decided to take a morning nap on you…it’s nearly impossible to leave.

This rainy day has me reflecting on the fantastic summer we just had… We moved into an apartment together, adopted about the best puppy in the world, traveled to weddings, parties, showers, visited friends and family all over, and even managed to enjoy our neighborhood a bit. For all the times I can be grumpy or upset, looking back at these pictures from the summer makes me realize how fortunate I am to have my family, Jay, Rondo, and amazing friends. Here’s to next summer being as great as summer 2012 and to pumpkin flavored everything starting now that it’s fall! Below are a bunch of my favorites from this summer…

Just a quick look at yesterday. Had a an amazing lobster roll at The Smith, then little brother came and got Rondo and I from Brooklyn, and we have been relaxing at my parents ever since (Rondo is loving all this grass!).
