New do!

I can’t believe the weekend is over…it went way too quickly.  Friday Rondo and I went to visit M&D in NJ for the night.  Mom and I had tasty breakfast went on a hike with Rondo, did some shopping, got to Trader Joe’s (yay!), and dyed my hair.  Rondo loves being in the grass so much, I feel bad bringing him back to the city.

I came home Saturday for a good friend’s birthday, and had a lazy Sunday before Jay got back from Cape Cod.  I baked cookies, made chicken & rice dinner in the crock pot, watched Bachelorette, and took a long walk around the neighborhood with the little guy.

My favorite is the one of Rondo on the porch.  While I was putting away clothes he decided to take the bathroom mat onto the balcony for more comfortable sunbathing…that is how I found him.  Too funny.

And here is the new hair…I love it!

Officially NY

Well, it’s official, I am a resident of NY.  Goodbye NJ license (hopefully not forever).  Even though I have been here for years now (don’t tell NY please), I just now got around to switching over since it’s about to be voting time.

This made me think of all the great, and horrible, times driving in NJ…amazing summers with friends, rides to the beach, great adventure, cruising around town, taking my dog everywhere with me…and of course the bad experiences driving which I will not mention…they were bad…real bad.

Either way, I am now part of NY for good.  And though it can make me feel a little…

I have a wonderful life in NYC (graffiti by my apt).

For example, last night we saw Yeasayer (one of my favs) in Central Park…

Today I had the most amazing pizza ever…

And of course, most importantly, I come home to these guys which makes NYC actually feel like home…

Surprise Face!

The past couple days have been busy with work for both Jay and I.  This means delivery dinner and early to bed.  At least someone has been enjoying this beautiful fall sunshine while we are working…

I have managed to get Rondo to the dog park every night, which is actually, completely, selfish.  Taking that hour after work for him to run around means no playing fetch in the hallway for hours when we want to watch SOA.  Definitely worth it.  Here is a great building we pass buy on our walk to the park…

Here it is…the (best) surprise face from Reggie’s surprise party this weekend.  This is right when he walked in the door…terrified and so fantastic!

One last thing… NY Mag has a great article about South Williamsburg and all of the amazing new restaurants, bars, and real estate being built.  I love my neighborhood!  Check out the article here.

Sweetwater

Yesterday was a fun one!  Rondo went to his first puppy play group (it sounds silly…we know…he’s a dog). He had a great time running around and tricking the other puppies into chasing him (his favorite game is getting chased around the apartment).  Then we had a good friends’ birthday party at Sweetwater in our neighborhood.  They make most amazing watermelon cocktails.  Here we are last night:

The weather has been beautiful in NY the past couple days, so I took advantage and explored a new part of the city on my lunch break.  Look at these beautiful houses…I want one!

Here are some other things from yesterday…Rondo chewing the paper towel roll (his obsession), my favorite new dress (my obsession), and the finally perfected sock bun! Have a great long weekend everyone.
